For the Heathen Celts of the Iron Age, the word "Truth" had several implications including "Justice" and "Righteousness." For something to be true, it must cohere with reality (it must be reliable, trustworthy, steady, stable) and it must be consistent with all other true statements (it must exhibit integrity). Speaking the Truth can effect wonders, while speaking a falsehood will result in misfortune and even disaster. Truth sustains the universe.
